The Finance team acts for lenders and borrowers across various sectors. The Real Estate Finance team has a strong real estate finance practice specialising in offices, retail, hotel, care homes and development, in the UK and continental Europe.
The Structured Finance team’s practice has grown significantly in strength and size, focusing on the acquisition of performing and non-performing portfolios of residential and commercial backed mortgage loans, defaulting note and securitisation structures (for bondholders, trustees, servicers and special servicers), CMBS, RMBS and CDOS/CLOs.
The financial crisis has required a shift of focus to debt restructurings where the restructuring team has been advising lenders and borrowers on restructurings ranging from covenant re-sets through to restructuring and recapitalisation of companies, funds and assets. This has involved a considerable amount of collaboration with the Corporate Recovery team.
The team also has a strong corporate banking practice, primarily advising on the borrower side, providing a full range of debt finance and treasury services to AIM and mid-market corporates.
