Nick advises banks and financial institutions on all types of property secured lending transactions with particular emphasis on investment property and development finance, retail/shopping centres, and hotels. He has developed this practice into Europe.

Nick also advises the firm's real estate clients on the financing side of their investment structures, which include Propcos/Opcos, limited partnerships, unit trusts and investment trusts.

He also advises registered social landlords on all aspects of financing. He has developed particular specialisation in the funding aspects of large scale voluntary transfers, syndicated and bilateral lending arrangements, restructuring and refinancing of facilities, capital markets facilities and bond issues, as well as the funding issues relating to group structures .
