Expertise

Andrew specialises in the resolution of all types of commercial and trust disputes through arbitration, mediation and litigation. He has been involved in some of the highest profile High Court cases in recent years including acting for the Football League against Carlton and Granada and for Tekron Resources against a subsidiary of Russian Aluminium. He has wide ranging experience in the private equity industry and he has a reputation for speedy and effective action to protect his client's interests. He advises extensively on brand protection and intellectual property matters (for example, advising the Estate of Diana, Princess of Wales). He is often involved in international disputes. He undertakes large cross-border arbitrations; heavy weight contentious trust matters and he continues to represent the Government of Malawi both here and in Africa.
 
He is a member of the LG Corporate Investigations team and the firm's North America Group.

Experience

• Acted for Tekron; a special purpose corporate vehicle, in a complex commercial dispute with a wholly owned subsidiary of Russian Aluminium. Judgment has been obtained for US$35 million with costs and long term contract at the centre of this dispute has been upheld. The matter was settled before reching the Court of Appeal
• Advising the Estate of Diana, Princess of Wales - Advising on brand protection and intellectual property matters
• Advising The Football League in a claim of over £300 million against Carlton and Granada.
• Innumerable Appeals to Court of Appeal, House of Lords and Privy Council for example New Bullas Trading (fixed charge on book debts), Credit Suisse v L B Waltham Forest (enforceability of guarantee) and Re Park Air Services (disclaimer of lease)
• Advised Government of Malawi on significant consitutional cases
• Several heavyweight international confidential arbitrations under the auspices of either ICC, LCIA or UNCITRAL
