LG advises on leading accountancy firm merger

18 April 2007

LG has acted for MRI Moores Rowland LLP ("Moores Rowland") and its associated company, Chiltern Corporate Finance Limited, in the merger of their businesses with Mazars LLP ("Mazars").

A core team of eight Moores Rowland partners led by Fiona Hotston Moore are joining Mazars with the remainder retiring from the business.

This merger between two of the leading accountancy practices in the United Kingdom represents a bringing together of two complementary businesses within the framework of the Mazars international advisory and accountancy group.

The combined entity will have annual turnover in excess of £90m and a client base of over 100 public companies.

Corporate solicitor Stephen Richards led the LG team advising Moores Rowland together with corporate partner Hugh Maule. They were assisted by LG partner David Hayward in relation to the property aspects of the transaction and corporate solicitor Marc Wilshaw.

Stephen said: "This is a tremendously exciting merger for both parties and we are sure that the practices of Mazars and Moores Rowland will integrate smoothly and quickly to provide long term benefits to their combined client base. We look forward to working with the merged practice in the future".
