LG funds boom continues with $404m trio of deals for brokers

The Funds team at LG, the London-based business law firm has advised three brokers – Fairfax I.S. PLC, Cenkos Securities and Landsbanki Securities – in connection with three separate fundraisings with a total value of approximately $404m.
LG advised Fairfax, nominated adviser and broker to Vision Opportunity China Fund Limited on its admission to AIM that raised $100m for investment in companies that operate in China. Dealings commenced yesterday, 28 November 2007.
At the same time LG advised Cenkos Securities, the sponsor to Thames River Multi Hedge PCC Limited ("Thames River") – a closed-ended, umbrella investment, protected cell company listed on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange – on its C share issue that raised approximately $173m. Dealings commenced on 20 November 2007.
LG also advised Landsbanki Securities, the sponsor to Ceres Agriculture Fund Limited on its admission to trading on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange that raised $131m for investment in exchange traded agricultural commodity contracts and derivatives. Dealings commenced on 27 November 2007.
The LG team advising on these deals was led by Nick Heather and he was assisted by corporate associates Oliver Riley, John Reed and Kristian Rogers.
