LG advises NIIT Technologies on acquisition of leading insurance solutions provider

India-based global company buys controlling interest in UK-based ROOM Solutions Limited
London-based law firm LG has advised NIIT Technologies Limited ("NIIT Technologies"), the global IT solutions company, on its US$25M acquisition of ROOM Solutions Limited, a UK-based supplier of IT solutions to the insurance market.
Based in New Delhi and listed on both the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchanges, NIIT Technologies is a diversified global IT services company operating through 100% subsidiaries in Europe, USA, Asia Pacific and Japan.
Corporate partner Sunil Kakkad, who heads LG's specialist India Group, led the team advising NIIT Technologies which included Tim Railton, Elizabeth Ashby, Adrian Slack and Narmie Devendra.
About the acquisition, Sunil said: "I am delighted that we were able to assist NIIT Technologies with this strategically important acquisition which will enable it to further strengthen its position in the insurance sector. The acquisition underlines the growing trend for Indian technology companies to make targeted acquisitions of assets which enhance both their European reach and service offerings."
Langham Capital acted as financial adviser to NIIT Technologies and Campbell Hooper, with a team led by partner, Martin Wright, advised the shareholders in ROOM Solutions.
