AeroMobile agrees to provide Emirates' passengers with mobile phone use

LG, the London-based business law firm, has advised AeroMobile, the UK-based telecoms company, in connection with its contract to provide Emirates with technology to offer passengers the use of mobile phones inflight across its fleet.

Emirates will be the first airline to offer the technology to its customers. The Dubai-based company expects to launch the service on a Boeing 777 as early as January 2007.

Partner Anthony Woolich led the LG team that advised AeroMobile on all aspects of the supply contract and the purchase contracts for components, as well as obtaining competition clearances for the AeroMobile joint venture between ARINC Inc and Telenor Communication II AS. The LG team included solicitors Rosie Choueka, Alex Lundie, Geoff Gouriet, and Kate Morley.

Anthony Woolich said: "This deal marks a breakthrough in mobile technology and has been an exciting experience for our team. The growth opportunities are apparent for AeroMobile, with whom we have a close working relationship that we look forward to continuing."
