Wembley sells greyhound racing business to Risk Capital Partners for £50m

Law firms LG and Memery Crystal have advised Wembley plc, the London-listed leisure group, on its agreed sale of GRA Limited to Risk Capital Partners for £50m.

The deal will see six greyhound stadiums, from Portsmouth to Manchester, added to the leisure interests of Risk Capital Partners – a private equity vehicle led by Luke Johnson - which include London restaurants The Ivy, J Sheekey and Le Caprice.

Memery Crystal advised on the corporate aspects of the transaction, advising on all corporate aspects and project managing the disposal. Led by corporate partners Lesley Gregory and Andrew Titmas, the Memery Crystal team included David Walker and Claire O’Boyle .

LG advised Wembley on all property, construction, environmental and licensing aspects in connection with the disposal. Led by real estate partner Catherine Diggle, the Lawrence Graham team included Paul Rice, Carol Elliott, Kelly Shutler, Fiona Bishop and Peter Holliday.
